Split Downpipes
A new day has come in the development of Audi
2.7T downpipes. TantrumWerks is very proud to
introduce Split Downpipes from
Fast Intentions! Fast
Intentions, an industry leader in cat-back
exhaust fabrication & custom downpipe applications
for the 300ZX & Ford Mustang, has entered
the Audi market with a new design that has turned
the downpipe market upside-down.
The current trend in the land of B5 platform Audi S4 downpipes
is to simply take the stock downpipe design,
remove the pre-cat, enlarge the mouth of the
pipe on the turbo side to 3-inches, and maintain
a 3-inch pipe or taper to a 2.5” pipe
down to the flex joint. During testing with
TantrumWerks, we noticed gains
of 20 wheel horsepower using
this method on a prototype downpipe. After further
deliberations, Fast Intentions decided
to take this one step further and employ the
design they use on their 300ZX turbo downpipes
to the Audi 2.7T.
Split downpipes for the B5 platform S4 are
available for 6-speed and Tiptronic transmissions.
We have been taking notice of the desires of
the Tiptronic owners, and we are confident this
tuning option will satisfy their needs for added
performance. In addition, these downpipes also
fit K04 applications! So no matter if you have
K03’s or K04’s, these pipes fit
both turbos like a glove! |
